Frequently Asked Questions

Card-present transactions through the terminal or kiosk: 2.6% + 10¢. Card-not-present (online booking, card on file, invoicing): 3.4% + 15¢. There is also a $15/month merchant account fee once payments are live. It is part of payments pricing, separate from your software plan. No setup, PCI, or statement fees, and no monthly minimums.

Standard payouts hit your bank account in 1–2 business days. Same-day payouts available for an additional fee. Weekend transactions settle the next business day. You see every transaction, every payout, and every fee in real time inside the Emvari dashboard.
Yes — on the Evolve plan. The self-service kiosk handles the full checkout — service total, retail add-ons, tip, and rebooking — in under 60 seconds. Clients tap their card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The transaction posts to your dashboard, the tip routes to the right stylist, and the next appointment goes on the calendar.
Tip prompts run at every checkout — terminal, kiosk, or online. Custom amounts and percentage suggestions are configurable per service. Tips route to the stylist who performed the service automatically and show up in their mobile app the same day.
Securely store a client’s payment method to charge no-show fees, retail purchases, or future appointments — without having to ask for the card again. Cards are tokenized and stored by the payment processor (Emvari never sees the full number). New clients may be required to put a card on file before their first booking is confirmed.
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Apple Pay and Google Pay work at the card reader. Cash can be logged in the dashboard. Bank (ACH) payments are coming soon.
Emvari notifies you the moment a dispute is filed and pulls the evidence automatically — appointment record, signed consent forms, check-in timestamp, receipt, and any message history with the client. You review and approve the response inside the dashboard. Most service-based disputes are won when the salon can produce the appointment record and a signed form — both live in your client’s Emvari profile.
Not yet. Invoices for off-site work and wedding parties are coming soon.
