When the Schedule Changes,
It Handles It
Open shifts, call-outs, shift trades, time off, and coverage — handled by your team without turning every schedule change into a manager problem.
Get the Shift Covered. Not the Group Chat Chaos.
A team member can’t work. Someone else can. Emvari connects the two and keeps the schedule caught up.
1. Offer the Shift
Post the full shift or only the hours that need coverage.
2. Find Someone Available
Open shifts reach eligible team members, while Shift Interest shows you who's already looking to work.
3. Add an Incentive
The business can offer bonus points — or the team member can optionally offer their own points to sweeten the shift.
4. Claim It
Team members claim available shifts based on the rules you've set.
5. Update the Schedule
Once approved, coverage moves onto the right team member's calendar.
Coverage Works Both Ways
Don’t just wait for someone to give up a shift. Let the people who want more hours raise their hand first.
I Need Coverage
Team members post an open shift when they need someone else to work it.
I Want to Work
Team members post the dates, times, and locations where they're available to work.
Your Rules. Before Anyone Takes the Shift.
Decide how flexible coverage should be, then let Emvari enforce the rules while your team handles the rest.
Approval
Auto-approve coverage or require manager approval.
Location
Keep coverage within one location or allow team members to work across locations.
Role & Services
Require the same role or matching services when coverage needs to stay specialized.
Partial Coverage
Let someone cover the entire shift or only the hours they can work.
Make the Hard Shifts Worth Taking
Add a point bonus to an open shift. The reward isn't earned until the shift is actually worked.
Let the Team Sweeten the Deal
Need someone to take your shift? Team members can optionally offer their own Leaderboard Points to whoever covers it.
Trade Instead of Calling the Manager
Team members can trade shifts directly, while you decide whether swaps happen automatically or wait for approval.
Time Off Without the Back-and-Forth
Team members request time off inside Emvari. Policies, balances, blocked dates, approvals, and the schedule stay connected.
Paid or Unpaid
Create the time-off types that fit your business.
Full Day or Partial Day
Request the entire shift or only the hours needed.
Balances Included
Keep approved time and remaining balances visible.
Approval Rules
Auto-approve or send requests to the right manager.
Someone Called Out. Now What?
Flag the shift, find coverage, and keep moving — without rebuilding the day’s schedule by hand.
Before
9:03 AM — Called Out
After
9:08 AM — Coverage Found
Sick, late, no-show, and called-out shifts stay attached to attendance history, giving managers a clearer picture than scattered texts and memory.
Coverage Changes. The Calendar Keeps Up.
When coverage is approved, Emvari updates who’s working. Turn on automatic appointment reassignment and affected clients can move with the shift instead of becoming another rescheduling project.
Attendance You Can Actually See
Coming soon
See scheduled shifts, sick days, no-shows, late arrivals, call-outs, and attendance percentage by team member and location.
Your Team Doesn't Need You in the Middle of Every Schedule Change
Give them the tools to find coverage, offer availability, trade shifts, and request time off — while you keep the controls that matter.

FAQs
What is salon staff scheduling software?
Salon staff scheduling software helps businesses manage employee schedules, availability, shift coverage, time-off requests, attendance, and schedule changes. Emvari connects those workflows directly to the appointment calendar so team and client schedules stay aligned.
Can employees trade or give away shifts in Emvari?
Yes. Team members can post open shifts for others to claim and can trade shifts when enabled by the business. Businesses can choose whether claims and trades are automatically approved or require manager approval.
Can employees request to pick up extra shifts?
Yes. Shift Interest lets team members post the dates, times, and locations where they’re available to work. Managers or other eligible team members can then offer matching open shifts. When team members pick up extra hours, keep federal overtime rules in mind (U.S. Department of Labor: Overtime Pay).
Can I offer incentives for employees to cover open shifts?
Yes. Businesses can offer point bonuses for eligible open shifts. Team members can also optionally offer their own Leaderboard Points as an incentive when enabled. Rewards are issued after the shift is completed.
Can employees cover only part of a shift?
Yes. Businesses can allow partial shift coverage so a team member can claim only a portion of an available shift instead of requiring someone to cover the entire shift.
Can employees pick up shifts at another location?
Yes, if cross-location shifts are enabled. Businesses can control whether team members can view, claim, trade, and work shifts outside their normally assigned locations.
Does Emvari manage salon time-off requests?
Yes. Team members can submit time-off requests for full or partial days based on the policies created by the business. Managers can review requests, balances, dates, and other information before approving or denying them.
Does Emvari track employee attendance?
Coming soon. Attendance reporting will track scheduled shifts, sick days, no-shows, late arrivals, call-outs, and overall attendance percentage by team member and location.
What happens to appointments when someone gives up their shift?
Emvari can update the calendar when another team member takes the shift. Businesses can also configure automatic appointment reassignment and client notifications based on their shift-management settings.
Are shift bidding and attendance reports available in Emvari now?
Not yet. Shift bidding, shift trades and time-off coverage are coming soon and aren’t part of the Feb 15, 2027 salon launch. The attendance report comes later, with Emvari’s labor and compliance tools. Emvari opens to solo artists on Nov 15, 2026 and to salons on Feb 15, 2027. Join the waitlist to hear first when they’re ready. See what’s included at launch on the pricing page, or read about the team leaderboard and team chat.
